Frequently Asked Questions
All of our puppets are handmade. We have patterns and have sourced the materials necessary to cut, craft, sew, stuff, turn, bond, bind, glue and groom one of our creations into a final product.
Unfortunately we don’t offer customization beyond what is offered on each puppet’s product page. Some puppets come in different colors; others come with removable arm rods. But these are the only options we can provide.
Arm rods are what allow you to control the arms and hands of a puppet. Most of our puppets with hands have a small tube on the underside of the wrist area. This is where you will insert a rod with a handle so that you can perform your puppet. We will include instructions for how to do this with your puppet.
Some puppets may come with an option to order them without arm rods. This may be appropriate if the performer is a small child who isn’t trying to act like a “professional” puppeteer.
Do note that once a puppet is made without arm rods, we cannot go back and add the arm rod capabilities later.
Correct. We use UPS to ship our puppets. We find that this is the most reliable source for shipment. On the Cart page and during Checkout, you will find a variety of UPS shipping options so you can get your puppet faster if you need to.
Sorry, but all sales are final.
But wait, that seems a little harsh… What if I’m not satisfied?
We understand that there is a risk in ordering things online, and while sites like Amazon and Walmart have robust returns and exchange departments, our products are handmade and not mass produced. We put a lot of time and effort into them, so we can’t accept a puppet as a return and then turn around and send it to another customer.
It’s sort of like buying a dress, wearing it to prom, and then returning it. People try to do this, and it’s not right. So we can’t have customers buying a puppet, using it for a performance, event, photoshoot, etc. and then returning it to us.
Before we send out our puppets, we take pictures of them. We carefully package them and take another photograph. When your puppet leaves us, we know it’s been packaged with care and is not damaged.
If UPS damages it, then of course we will work with you to get a replacement and then deal with UPS to be reimbursed for their error. You’ll just need to email us from your My Account section.
Nope. We use Stripe to process credit card payments. They are the ones who actually know your credit card number. We only have access to your order information (name, address, what you ordered), so we couldn’t divulge your credit card number if we had to. This is a bonus for us because we don’t run the risk of suffering a data breach and then having a bunch of customers’ credit card numbers out in the wild. It’s a win-win for you and for us.
We are based in Alabama, so our “tax nexus” is the state of Alabama. Customers who have their orders delivered to an Alabama address will be charged sales tax.
Deliveries to the other 49 states do not incur sales tax with us; rather you are responsible to remit the tax to your city, county, and state taxing bodies.
We’re honored that you would think of us like that, but we don’t take custom commissions at the present time.
